Theme of To Kill a Mockingbird

Remember you received a handout in class where you started to think about theme? You were to write what you thought the theme would be for a book that took place during the 1930s. Well, now that we have started to read To Kill a Mockingbird and we started the movie.

Please write in a complete paragraph how the theme of class has to do with the book/movie.

You can think about the students in Scout's class, for example, Burris Ewell, the Cunninghams, etc. Anything you would like to discuss that may deal with the differences in class between the characters.

Remember, a complete paragraph please.

The theme of this story has to do with judgement. Some people judge people before they even know them, why, because they're just being careful, but some of them are being hurtful to others.Just because you heard a rumor, doesn't mean it's true. Someone can just be making it up.

Another theme this story has is the different levels of classes.(high or low)Most of the people in the Maycomb County would be lower class and have too pay other people back in food or wood. It shows that people base there friends on how much money someone has. I do not think this is a very good thing, because people should realize that they are the same. Kid of like they are judging them only aboult how much money the have or there background. Atticus shows that he doesn't care about any of this but, instead he feels sorry for him and shows sympathy for him and any other person.

A theme that we talked about in class was high and low. How people are classed by how much money they have. Instead they payed people with wood or hickory nuts. This was after the great depresion were people were poor and didnt have alot and when the uls hunted out of season.

The theme of this story is that Scout, Dill, and another boy are running away from Boo Radley. Scout and Atticus are angry with an elderly woman. Some people in Maycomb County have different levels of classes. Some people have lower classes, and other people have higher classes. I don't think this is a good thing. There were some rumors in the movie "To Kill a Mockingbird"

The theme of the story is it was bad times in the 1930s. And all the people in Maycomb County were pour. And some people are juged and some are not like for example Boo Radley he could be the nicest man in the world but people think he is very mean and scary. But you never know that is why you should not judge people before you know them

A theme in this movie could be rich and poor. This book/movie was during the Great Depression. The Great Depression was when no one had alot of money. If someone lent you money and you didnt have that money to pay back, you would pay back in food for instince. The reason why Atticus has some money is because he has a good job that pays decind amount of money. He is a luyor. Not having alot of money did not stop Atticus, jem and scout from having fun and playing outside. Atticus was a positive man and he helped out a young black man in a case because the colored man was charged of child rape. everyone gets mad at Atticus for taking this case. Atticus and his family might be low class but they are caring and helpful.

The theme of the story i think is rich or poor. The Cunninghams are very poor and they can aford a lunch. Scout is also poor but not as poor as the Cunninghams. I did notthink that scout is very poor. I think scout is wealthy for that time. She was wealthy for that time because it was the Great depression.

Its that alot of people there are poor. but the people act diffrently. some of them were nice and have pride while others can take things and wont even care that they got it for free.

What i think the theme would be is rich and poor. I think rich and poor because basicaly everyone was poor. They were poor becuase it was after the grat depression. The great depression was no one had a lot of money. If you lent someone money and they did not have it they would give you wood and hickery nuts. I dont think Atticus is low class but he does not have a lot of money. They live a good and fun life. Playing outside and having fun.
